About Us

International Christian Alliance on Prostitution (ICAP) is a partnership devoted to offering freedom and change to people involved in prostitution and those who have been trafficked for sexual exploitation. Made up of regions representing Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and North America, it was formed at the 2006 International Christian Conference on Prostitution.

Leadership Team

Lauran Bethell ~ ICAP Coordinator and Leadership Team Chair

Lauran was the first Director of The New Life Center in Chiang Mai, Thailand, where she served for 14 years.

In 2001, she began her ministry as an international consultant, facilitating the development and increased capacity of grass-roots projects which are addressing the issues of human trafficking and prostitution.  In 2004, Lauran directed the first “International Christian Conference on Prostitution” and subsequent conferences in 2006 and 2008. Serawit “Cherry” Teketel Friedmeyer ~ Africa Regional Representative

Serawit is the Founder of “Ellita-Women at Risk”, based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Ellilta  - Women at Risk works with female commercial sex workers of  Ethiopia, helping them to get out of the poverty trap in which  they are caught and enabling them to start a new life. Serawit serves as Team Leader and International Liaison for the ministry.


John Green ~ North America Regional Representative

John is the Founder of Emmaus Ministries, based in Chicago, Illinois, USA. www.streets.org
The Ministry’s purpose is to make Jesus known on the streets among men involved in sexual exploitation through evangelization, transformation, and education.

 

Mindy Ashley ~ Interim North America Regional Representative

Mindy has been a part of ICAP since 2006.  She currently lives in Irving, Texas and is active in ministry through Irving Bible Church.  She has a passion for mobilizing the Church to become active in the fight against sexual exploitation through education and action.

 


Toos Heemskerk-Schep ~ Europe Regional Representative

Toos serves as Outreach Coordinator for “Scharlaken Koord” (Scarlet Cord) based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Ann Marie Isenring ~ Central Asia Regional Representative

Ann Marie is a full time worker with a Christian charity, based in the northern centre in Leeds, UK. Seven years ago Ann Marie founded the Arise conferences to empower women of Central Asia to get involved in social issues.  As a result of the ministry and training given, there are now some grass-roots projects in Central Asia, working with women and children involved in prostitution and trafficking. Ann Marie describes herself as a "catalyst".

 


Mariliana Morales ~ Latin America Regional Representative

Mariliana is the Founder of “Fundacion Rahab” (Rahab Foundation) based in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Rahab Foundation facilitates holistic changes in the quality of life for people who have been involved in the sex industry, and their families.  Mariliana serves as Executive Director of the Foundation.


Thelma and Jonathan Nambu ~ Asia Regional Representative are the Founders of “Samaritana Transformation Ministries”, based in Quezon City, Philippines.

Samaritana is committed to sharing and living out the Gospel among Filipino women caught in prostitution, in partnership with other members of the Body of Christ.  Thelma serves as Program Supervisor and Jonathan is the Executive Director.
